Shirdi
town is situated in Rahata Tahasil in Ahmednagar
District of Maharashtra State (India). In the central
state of Maharashtra on the Indian subcontinent
lies the small village of Shirdi some 200 miles
east of Mumbai (Bombay) and 130 miles north of Pune.
Shirdi is about 285 kms and 6 hours' drive from
Mumbai(Bombay).
It
is also accessible by rail upto Nashik and Manmad-and
even by air upto pune/Aurangabad - and thence by
road transport. It is a rather dry dusty region
on a plateau several hundred feet above sea level.The
elevation gives it a more even and stable climate
than many places on the lower plains. The summers,
though hot, never become unbearable and the winters,
though cold, never threaten to freeze.
